Men's 4 x 400m Relay Final

The men's 4 x 400m is scheduled to go off at 2:30p.m. The weather is very warm...close to 80* and sunny with wind. This race is always fun to watch and should be a favorite with the fans!


It is 2:25 and the men's 4 x 400m relay is on the track
Lane 1 - Fredonia
Lane 2 - Plattsburgh
Lane 3 - Oneonta
Lane 4 - Buffalo State
Lane 5 - Cortland
Lane 6 - Brockport
Lane 7 - Geneseo
Lane 8 - Oswego

And they're off! After the first exchange its Cortland, Buffalo State, and Geneseo. At the second exchange its Geneseo, Brockport, Cortland, Oneonta, Buffalo State.....last exchange, Plattsburgh takes the lead followed very close by Brockport! And Plattsburgh takes home the SUNYAC 4 x 400m Relay  Championship in an unofficial time of 3:22. Official results will be posted ASAP.

Men's 5000m Run

This race should be one of the highlights of the meet as the distance events are usually a fight between Cortland State and Geneseo. 


The time is 2:00 p.m. and the race is off! 200m in to the race, its Nate Lockett leading. The race is out in 72 seconds for 400m. Through 800m, the leaders are through in 2:26. Approaching the 1600m, its Ryan O'Connor leading and there is still a large group together.

Through the mile, the leaders are through in 4:55...15:15 pace! Three Geneseo runners lead, followed Mike Heymann of Plattsburgh and Reid McGrath of Cortland. 

It is Ryan O'Connor, Jesse Berube, and Mike Heymann as they pass 3200m in 9:58. Nate Lockett has fallen off a bit, but the race still has some time left. 

The leaders are now Jesse Berube and Ryan O'Connor. Through 4000m, they split 12:33...approximately 15:40 pace. With 600m to go, Jesse Berube has pulled away from O'Connor and Heymann is moving back up. Heymann passes O'Connor with 400m to go. 

Jesse Berube is this years SUNYAC Champion, followed by Mike Heymann and Ryan O'Connor!
